Dear Vendor;
The Panama City Beach Convention and Visitor’s Bureau
is proud to announce the 24th Annual Indian Summer Festival. Selected
by the American Bus Association in 2003 as one of the “Top
100 Festivals in North America”, the event is held the second
weekend in October. 2004 Festival dates are Friday, October 8th
through Sunday, October 10th.
With a 22 year heritage, custodianship of the
“Indian Summer Seafood Festival” was assumed by the
Panama City Beach Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in 2002.
The CVB ‘raised the bar’ of quality and presentation
of the new and improved “Indian Summer Festival”, with
matching vendor tents and local restaurants serving as food vendors
in ‘A Taste of Panama City Beach’.
With over 150 arts & craft vendors, 20 local
restaurants and 30 regional and national musical acts on three stages
over three days, the Festival is one of the highlights of the season.
The 2002 Festival attracted over 40,000 attendees, and despite inclement
weather, over 50,000 persons attended in 2003. PCB Indian Summer
Festivals, Inc. distributed over $55,000 to charitable organizations
in 2002 and 2003. A new Fine Arts exhibition area, a cooking show,
a Children’s Activities Area and a Sunday Gospel Show complement
the event.
Headline entertainers for the past two years have
included Travis Tritt, John Michael Montgomery, Colin Raye, Diamond
Rio and Keith Urban. Nashville recording artists Chad Brock,
Rhett Akins, David Kersh and Daryle Singletary
will be featured on Friday October 8 as the ‘Honky
Tonk Tailgate Party’. Saturday October 9 will feature
2002 Academy of Country Music ‘Top New Vocal Duo/Group’
Trick Pony. Sunday, October 10 features Gretchen
Wilson with her current hit song ‘Redneck Woman’.
The 2004 Indian Summer Festival offers the ability
to display products and services to a prospective audience of over
60,000 people. High attendance is ensured by a $400,000 regional
promotion and a $100,000 local advertising campaign. This campaign
consists of cable and network television, radio, newspaper, outdoor
billboards and internet, and affords literally millions of advertising
impressions. Due to space restrictions, the total number of Festival
vendors will be limited, and decisions will be partially based upon
merchandise, presentation, and past participation in the Indian
Summer Festival.
